The founder and stronghold: Luis Francisco Mendoza.
Luis Francisco "El Negro" Mendoza is one of the most influential figures in Latin music, with a career dating back to 1967. A producer, orchestra creator, and talent developer, he has built a legacy spanning more than six decades of uninterrupted work.
As founder and general manager of Korta Records, he has promoted countless productions that have achieved international recognition in genres such as salsa, vallenato, cumbia, Afro funk, and llanera music, always combining tradition, experimentation, and profound artistic judgment. Colombian by birth and Venezuelan by adoption, Mendoza has been a pillar in the construction of emblematic musical projects and a respected figure in the recording industry.
Founded in 1994 in Caracas, Korta Records has established itself as an essential platform for the development of national and international artists. From there, Mendoza has promoted and produced figures such as Alí Primera, Reinaldo Armas, Luis Silva, Reyna Lucero, Rogelio Ortiz, and Los Morochos Figueroa, contributing decisively to the strengthening of Venezuela's folkloric legacy and achieving numerous number one hits on the radio.
His reach in Latin music also includes managing and representing legends of the Fania All Stars, including Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades, Willie Colón, Héctor Lavoe, Ismael Rivera, and Cheo Feliciano, as well as promoting groups such as Guaco, Rincón Morales, and Cardenales del Éxito.
